[EN] Montado Alentejano candidate to the World Heritage by UNESCO

The Alentejo has a unique landscape in the world. An ecosystem in which the cork oak its brand image, the Regional Tourism Authority of Alentejo wants to apply the “Montado Alentejano” to the World Heritage by UNESCO to enhance and contribute to the affirmation of tourism in the region.
“We have tourism products of great importance and very high quality, but what is distinctive, which makes us a tourist we can consolidate and affirm a mark of international prestige, is “Montado Alentejano”, sayed the president of Turismo do Alentejo, Antonio Ceia da Silva.
“And when we talk about “Montado”, we appreciate not only the expression landscape, but also its connection to food, the way to be Alentejo, the hospitality and our way of dressing, the rich cultural traditions of the region”, said António Ceia da Silva.
